About Dr. Esparaz
Dr. Esparaz is a double board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained medical retina specialist and cataract surgeon.
Her goal is to provide personalized, compassionate, and cutting-edge medical and surgical treatment for a variety of eye conditions.
Dr. Esparaz's practice is unique in that she offers comprehensive ophthalmology care with a subspecialty focus in retina. She offers in-office medical retina treatment, including minimally-invasive laser therapy and injections. She surgically manages routine and complex cataracts. She also offers including implantation of premium lenses using laser-assisted cataract surgery to help improve her patients' vision and in some cases reduce their need for glasses. She also treats glaucoma with in-office laser and medical therapy.
Dr. Esparaz is also board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine and can offer counseling on nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, and more.

Dr. Esparaz is a native of the greater Cleveland area. She attended Northwestern University and majored in Anthropology in Human Biology. She studied abroad in Mexico city learning about Public Health and carries her global health experience into her career today.
She received her medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. During medical school, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for exemplifying exceptional humanistic qualities through service and commitment to patients. She was also selected for the prestigious Alpha Omega Honor Society (AOA).
She completed her Ophthalmology training at Boston University Medical Center. She was also selected as the first medical retina fellow at Boston University.
She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery for NEOMED.
Dr. Esparaz has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences across the country. She also has been featured in notable media outlets such as Parents Magazine, and recently provided medical commentary for Netflix's hit show Virgin River. In 2021, she was named as "One to Watch" in Ophthalmology by Millenial Eye and Allergan.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Women in Ophthalmology.
